So everyday my team and I go to an orphanage. We pack our sandwiches and fruit, grab some water and load up the van. The other day all of the kids got out their food for lunch and it just broke my heart. They had food but it wasn’t something i would have eaten. However, they sat there contently eating it, knowing it’s all they had. I had brought some extra fruit with me and i wasn’t very hungry so I thought why not share.

Honestly, I didn’t expect much, but seeing their faces light up when I handed them an orange was something I’ll never forget. It reminded me of how Jesus taught us to love and care for those around us, no matter how small the gesture.

After the fruit sharing, a few days later we took the kids to the beach for the first time. Watching them run into the waves, filled with pure joy, felt like witnessing a little slice of heaven. In those moments, I felt God’s presence, reminding me to be grateful for every blessing in my life—big or small.

This experience helped me realize that gratitude is a form of worship. It’s about recognizing the beauty in the simple things, like food or the laughter of children. I’ve started to embrace this in my daily life, giving thanks for each moment. It’s amazing how focusing on gratitude can lead to ultimate joy and a deeper connection to God. Living with gratitude has shifted my focus from what I lack to what I have. It’s made me more aware of the beauty in everyday life and taught me that joy often comes from appreciating the small things.
